5 places for pink in your home (that are fabulous and unexpected)

 In Paint

Pink is having a real moment in the fashion and design industry, and for good reason. The stunning combination of red pigment and white is so much more than the “girl colour” we so often confine it. In the 17th century pink tones were favoured by both men and women as a sign of luxury and sophistication. As a designer in the 21st century, pink offers an exciting array of applications for my clients with its diverse range of tones. From vibrant corals to soft, warm pastels, there’s so much you can do! Pink is flattering, fresh and continues to add that pop of luxury, transforming ordinary homes into sophisticated spaces. Below are five of my favourite (and unexpected) places to add a splash of pink in your home and a special offer from Bergma’s to try one of these ideas out…

Master bedroom

A bold coral makes a dramatic statement, especially when continued up to the crown moulding and ceilings. We also love the way C2 Paint‘s Sheer picks up the pink tones in this guest bedroom for an inviting place to stay.

Powder room

If you’re not sure about adding pink to a large space, a powder room re-fresh may be just your thing! Pink looks lovely on cabinets in an all-white bathroom and it could add a splash of colour to a feature wall.

Kitchen

Paired with deep charcoal cabinets, the pink on brick works exceptionally well in a kitchen. Also consider the unique combination of gold hardware and blush walls for a look that stands out amongst a sea of monochrome kitchens.

Hallways

If you prefer to keep main living spaces neutral, pink could add a fun and interesting twist to your front or upstairs hallway. A subtle pastel is the perfect backdrop to some bold prints in an entryway and a blush door is the perfect pop of chic colour.

DIY accent furniture

If you can’t find the perfectly-hued accent piece – make it yourself! Chairs, tables, desks, cabinets and more can take on a second life with a fresh coat of pink paint.
